Well. It has been a LONG week.  Yes, on Wednesday.  Study abroad overall has been a blast, but not without its issues.  One of which led to me and two of my three roommates (four of us in the apartment) spending the night in a locked room.  Why?  Because the fourth roommate decided to have a friend over without telling us and spend the night, second time without telling us.  Same friend from the previous time, which had been a couple days before.  What's different this time?  Last time it was annoying, but this time wonderfully creepy shit that you'd find in "Horror stories about study abroad programs."  Me and the other two roommates actually wound up in a spontaneous lockdown for safety with our laptops and key stuff into one roommate's room because it's the only room with a lock and spent the night there.  Luckily a neighbour filed a noise complaint, as the program coordinator told us when she summoned us briefly, but turns out the neighbour actually filed a police report because they were not just being noisy.  Big surprise.  Not. I had been wanting to talk to the coordinator the entire night and was thinking about doing it, but I already knew I wouldn't have the nerve to step up to it, so the summons was a blessing.

I talked to the program coordinator today and gave her times with the details of what happened, and because I'd been messaging Pappaprime as it happened, in my panic I wound up produced a series of messages that served as a timeline of events for what unfolded.  The coordinator was very nice, very understanding and patient about it.  She made it clear she did not blame me nor the other two roommates (apparently neighbours had heard her name repeated constantly) and was livid at our roommate, and kept asking me if I was really okay.  She was especially angry when she read a couple texts for herself, but said she would just let me handle detailing the events to her with the timestamps.  It surprised me how calmly she dealt with it all, though, and how appreciative she was that I felt comfortable enough to show her the FB messages and exchanges.  Not fun stuff, but she definitely made it a good experience to retell the events officially.  Even provided me with coffee before I could start because "I know you like coffee."

As much as I now hate my dumbass roommate and her idiot friend's guts for daring to say "Oh!  Good morning Krystalle! How are you doing?" with a smile the morning of his and his friend's lovely incident, I now have a deep appreciation for my two sane roommates and the program coordinator.  An all-night lockdown leads to lovely bonding moments, who knew?  And like I said, the program coordinator was just amazing about it.  And then there's how wonderful and amazing Pappaprime is in general for talking to me right after hearing about the main event of the night, for lack of a better word.  I'd had no idea the scope of my panic, really, until morning when I read my texts about it. Yup.  Fun stuff.  Fun, fun, FUN stuff over the last two days. :I

In brighter news, Sanremo is gorgeous and Dolce Acqua is gorgeous and all of Italy is gorgeous and I love France too but Italy too.  I JUST LOVE STUDY ABROAD, OKAY?
